The best buff Jaguar prowlers got was the speed buff in stealth. Made them so much more viable. Before they would always get kited to death by skirms

I feel like Italy should start with -1 villager, -300 food and +2 Outpost Wagons. It would balance it out, making it harder to rush and its boom be slowed down massively (can get Age ups and upgrades much later). Also, Freemasons gives +100% construction speed instead, but does not allow building of Fortifications. Similarly, for early game power spike civs, I think: • Haudenosaunee have -1 villager, -100 food and be able to research Age ups at the Long House (for flavour reasons, as well as game balance). • Aztecs have -1 villager and be able to train Xolotl Elite (cavalry villagers with a healing ability; references Aoe2 story) from Farms and Estates, to be able to gather in risky areas before running away. • Lakota have all their Age up rewards reduced by 50% (except Wise Woman hunt bonus) or cost +200 food if not possible and can train the White Buffalo hero from Farms (Lakota were pretty vanilla in real life like the Goths, so a random religion reference), and 7 technologies referencing what she instructed to do.

With the War Chief civs, it just feels like turtling 🐢 with Outposts is the best option. To wait until their early game power-spike is over (from unit shipments, Big Buttons, Lakota not needing houses 🚫🏠, etc.). Especially due to their lack of artillery until the Industrial Age. Most of their main units are also very specialist, so don't do well when under enemy building fire and having surprise batches of their counters spawning before they can run away.

150pop China army vs whatever that was lol XD It kinda hurt seeing that initial retreat into the final fight tbh (19:36). Your army was basically perfectly positioned except for the cav coming up the back - Changdao front, right next to his cannons, arqs behind the changdao. The cannons proceeded to do quite a bit of damage for the next, like, minute they lived after that (whereas you could have just brute-forced them down with args almost immediately otherwise). It didn't really matter, you had such a massive army advantage you probably would have had to try pretty damn hard to lose, but that fight could have been micro'd better.

great cdbs management during your push. also: If u're gonna make Musks in mass make sure to arsenal Up your Fortress Age and put bayonets on tha thing called musquet - in that 14:44 first great battle the muskets would've won against them enemy horses (melee while near)

I guess you have to remember Lakota's civ bonus of not needing houses 🏠 is front loaded, making their early game better. And has other front loaded effects like having fast gathering from hunt 🦌. In comparison, France 🥖 has faster rate of villager production in terms of value in terms of what those villagers are worth. And those villagers are more effective in combat, making them die less. So overall, the long game is beneficial for Lakota's enemies. Like here France.

Should of got those Jesuits or atleast the gunpowder upgrade.... conquistadors 40 more hp than ruyter, 1 area affect and 4 more damage, and 20% more ranged resist, huge mistake not to get them rather than Ruyter's.

I have to admit, I'm dubious of cuir play vs Lakota. Bow riders are a primary unit of their comp and absolutely disgusting vs regular cav (and everything else, if I'm honest). It feels like that's the big thing you have to play around fighting them. I've seen a lot of people poke Lakota with skirms fairly successfully, they don't have the range to hit back effectively (18 range wakina) so that usually seems like a decent way to wittle them down.

Lack of food probably really hurt Lakota, since Axe Riders are really food heavy, their vils hunt faster too, so he probably ran through his food earlier than you did. That bugged hunt you had sucked though. Do they not have admin check the map for resource bugs like that? I feel like they do for AOE2 tournaments
